We sat down everything looked great. The waitress came to the table and asked how our day was, my daughter 4 years old was hungry and upset. I said not to good but the kids are hungry. She proceeded to say why bring the here then? She then went to my daughter and said "is he being mean to you?" I informed her that it inappropriate to say that to my child. She then threw down the receipt and said fine I'm not serving you. I asked to see her manager and she threw done her receipt and said "you go find her because I'm not you can just leave." Talked to the manager who said we will find you a new waitress.... we decided to leave... we will never be back to Ponderosa again.
How this place stays open without being closed down is beyond me. Stopped here for lunch on Sunday. We ordered the buffet which may I say had many empty dishes that weren't being filled efficiently. Food was over cooked and dry.
THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND I WILL NEVER RETURN!! On a good note, our waitresses was awesome.
Our family was at this restaurant yesterday for a surprise birthday party. I have ate in barns that was cleaner than the restaurant. There were a whole bunch of tables that were stacked with dirty dishes, food all over the floors (everywhere, not just in one area), it looks like they have never washed under their dessert coolers, the food was cold and gross. The waitresses would walk by the messes on the floor look at it and walk away, they didn't seem to have a problem walking up to the dirty tables and grabbing their tips but couldn't pick up the dirty stacked up dishes.
Well worth the visit. Buffet style dining. Good selection, located on Gaylord's new westside retail area. EZ I-75 access
The bathrooms were also very dirty. I thought of those roadside bathrooms that are unclean when I entered. Also the carpet in the main dining room is extremely stained and dirty.
The dessert bar area was just filthy with ice cream all over floor and stuff spilled on the buffet area.
Entrée was great, even the left overs were. We came in an hour before close on sunday afternoon and the buffet was limited and not the best, but in all it was good food .
The only one thing that was nice about this restaurant was the hostess at the cash register who took our money. We have eaten at many Ponderosa's and this one was a travesty.
