Andy and everyone at autolab of gaylord were amazing. i brought in my ford diesel with numerous problems and Andy diagnosed it and got right to work on it. They had the truck done way faster than i had expected and the job was amazing. they went the extra mile to make sure everything was put back neatly. the price was great and they definitely met and exceeded my expectations. i wouldn't recommend anyone else in northern michigan.
Called for a quote on a common repair for my vehicle, which other repair shops had given me price for. The woman on the phone told me that she couldn't give me a quote without a VIN. I offered her the VIN and then she told me that she couldn't do the quote because I wasn't in their system. I offered to give her my personal information and the VIN to be entered in their system and she told me that she wan't going to give me a quote unless they were guaranteed the repair. Buyers beware, as this is a huge red flag for auto repair shops!
The people working here are amazing, extremely kind, diligent and fair with their pricing. They helped my family and me when our car gave out on us and got the work done immediately. I could not sing higher praises for them.
My husband's truck broke down while we were on vacation in Gaylord - pulling our camper, no less. Turned out to be quite a significant job with a lot of costly issues. Andy did assist with some of the cost with allowing my father in law to help with some of the machine work. However, the work took longer than originally quoted (they blamed my FIL machine shop which could have been the cause). My biggest issue was communication. I asked them to look into an issue that was unrelated to the original problem and they said they would - it was not. I went two weeks without hearing any information regarding the progress and had to go out of my way to call multiple times. The issue I asked about was never addressed nor was the transmission flushed as promised. I realize this was a big job but I think that they could have been more attentive to some issues. The truck runs, but not as well as it should for such a costly job.
Andy was kind enough to stay open after closing and help me out. I was traveling trying to get back to Minnesota . He diagnosed the problem, made sure the truck was safe enough to get me home until I could have my mechanic fix it.
